Mentoring Esperanza's Youth

  Esperanza School is seeking volunteers to join the mentoring program. This program allows our students to build positive relationships with adult role models while participating in activities that develop their social and vocational skills, and helps them build self esteem by giving back to the community  

HOURS:
Every Tuesdays from 3:00-6:00 PM.

Board Members Esperanza is currently recruiting individuals to join our Board of Directors. While the agency looks for Board members with particular areas of expertise in accounting, event coordination, facilities management, fundraising, law, marketing, public relations, real estate, school administration, and strategic planning, no qualification is more important than the member’s interest and concern for people with developmental disabilities.

Adult Training Assistants Needed!

 

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with people with special needs to assist trainers in their daily activities.

Activities include:
* Assisting with classroom transition
* Engaging in activities in the following areas: woodworking, baking, art, horticulture, weaving, and sensory programming.
* Chaperoning during community outings.

We need someone who is responsible, patient, a good communicator with interpersonal skills. Knowledge in the programming areas is preferred. A background check is required.

We are looking for people who can come in on a weekly basis or twice a month.  This opportunity takes place Monday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Art Program Volunteer

 

We need someone to assist our arts facilitator. We are looking for a person with a general knowledge of art material who will mix paint, clean brushes, get the trainees started on their projects, and assist with class organization.

Experience with print making, sewing, framing, and a general background in the arts is preferred. Willingness to work with adults with developmental disabilities is required, as well as a background check

This opportunity takes place Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  We are looking for someone who can come in weekly or twice a month.
